Asiedu Nketia

Mr. John Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, has admitted that the NDC brought the Electoral Commission of Ghana to court over the 2020 elections case when the party had no genuine collated results.

According to a leaked audio clip of Asiedu Nketia's voice that has gone viral on social media, the NDC's embattled top scribe said that the party's head of IT, Mr. Osei Kwame Griffiths, failed to give the party with genuine results.

He stated at a meeting with certain NDC delegates in the Bono Region of Sunyani that the current Chairman, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, vouched for Mr. Osei Kwame Griffiths as the head of the party's I.T. and threatened to quit if former President John Mahama interfered with Mr. Osei Kwame Griffiths' appointment.

In the alleged tape, Mr. Asideu Nketia confessed that he knew before mounting the witness box during the election petition hearing that the party had no collated results, adding that he was honest with the court by admitting that he had no results that disproved what the Electoral Commissions had collated.

He further said that Mr. Osei Kwame Griffiths failed to do so because the system he used to compile the findings was destroyed.

During the debate with the party members, he suspects that the party chairman, Mr. Samuel Ofoso Ampofo, has a strained relationship with former President John Mahama, whom he feels was the NDC's final hope for the 2024 general elections.
