Bad breath

Bacteria that digest food create bad breath, which can occur even if you follow a strict diet. Most individuals who have this problem turn to breath mints, but this creates a vicious loop since sugar promotes the growth of germs that cause bad breath/halitosis. Chewing gum and mints can be useful in an emergency because they can conceal a terrible odor, but they cannot address the problem.

If you have halitosis, you may experience the following symptoms:

  • a dry month; a rough and bitter tongue upon rising;
  • the persistent need to restore your voice;
  • the persistent need to consume water;
  • a metallic or sour sensation in the mouth.

Here are a few simple checks you may perform to ensure that you have fresh breath:

  • Using a cotton pad, wipe the center of your tongue and smell it;

  • Place your tongue on your wrist and smell it.

  • Baking soda should be used to clean your mouth.

Nutritionists recommend cleaning your tongue with baking soda in addition to brushing your teeth. Baking soda is alkaline and eliminates toxins from the mouth, throat, and even the stomach. You will notice an instant effect by adjusting the pH of your mouth.
